The beautiful African wax print is also known as Ankara. There are different types of african prints out there. It is associated with Africa because of its tribal -like patterns. One interesting thing about Ankara is the versatility. Ankara can be used to make dresses, suit, blazers, hats, shoes, jewelries, swim suit, kimonos and lots more. Can also be used for interior decoration.
In this post today, my ankara fabric was given to me by my friend Debby. I love the pattern, colour and thickness. After I collected it, I knew I was going to make a maxi skirt with it since I am really into big skirts now but wasn’t sure if I was going to make a top or not. Finally decided to make one so I sketched my skirt and top for the tailor. Glad it came out the same way I wanted it.
On the day I took these pictures, the weather was so dull. argh!! anyways, the struggle to take pictures was real. I will restyle this maxi skirt for you guys, so you can also see the different ways to wear ankara maxi skirt.
