LIFE UPDATE… A GRADUATE STUDENT.

 
 Hello, my darlings! I hope you all are doing fine. This is a life update post as promised in one of my recent posts How to style an ankara skater dress.

I also started drafting this post on the 7th of February 2021 on one of those days I was actually worried and deep in thoughts.

So in January, I relocated to the US to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health. Anyone that knows me knows how much I’ve always wanted this and how hard I’ve had to pursue this even when I could have given up. Although I’m yet to be fully settled but I’ve made so much progress so far.  I’m honestly grateful to God for the opportunity and I’m super grateful to my amazing parents for supporting this dream of mine. It is really not easy but I thank God for them and I really pray for God to continue blessing them, strengthen them and give them a long life in sound health to reap the fruits of their labor.

I’m currently based in Connecticut and I got here on the 11th of Jan. It is really cold here by the way but of course, it’s nothing compared to the cold in Ukraine!

Upon getting to CT, I stayed with my high school friend Tola whom I’ve known for 17 years by the way, and her friend Jummy who is also my friend now. S/o thanks to them for accommodating me and making my life easy for over a month I stayed with them. Finding my own place was pretty difficult I’m not going to lie. I cried, got frustrated, searched for so many apartments before I finally got my place. I know I’m not in the best position to say this because I was so worried as well. At some point, the devil made me feel like God brought me here just to leave me stranded but the truth is things would always fall in place, worrying would not change anything and God definitely gives us the best. Special thanks to my mum’s friend Mrs. Lawal for everything. Special shout out to one of my followers (Gbemi) who reached out to me and has been super helpful as well. I’ve been marvelously helped by God I’m not gonna lie.

Since I got my apartment, I’ve been super busy from trying to juggle school with furnishing my apartment and DIY’ing things as it was empty when I moved in and trying to settle down generally.  Guys Adulthood is hard but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m learning to enjoy the process. I also have good people around me who have helped me and also given me gifts. I sometimes do not give myself credit for so many things but I choose to say I’m really proud of myself in this post.

For now, it might be difficult putting out blog posts since I just got to a new environment, transitioning usually takes a while and I haven’t even started looking out for photographers I could possibly collaborate with. This student life, I’m open to collaborating with photographers in my city. I also got my content creation tools which include a tripod, ring light, etc.. but this time, my tripod comes with a remote cos I’d most likely be creating my content for now myself. God help me. So, please bear with me if I don’t put out blog posts as much as I should. It’s definitely part of the process, everything would be fine and I’d be back fully.

I just thought to update you guys. Please pray for me I’d definitely be needing it. I’m really happy and excited for this new phase of my life and I know God who started a new thing would be with me till the very end. I’m also looking forward to all the amazing opportunities God is going to bring my way. I can’t wait! Thank you God for everything. I’m forever grateful.
