PURPLE RAIN- A MONOCHROME EDIT

Hey lovelies! how are we all doing? I really cant believe it’s May already which means one month to my birthday yes!!

Decided to share on the blog today this monochromatic purple look. Some of y’all may be wondering what monochrome is. A monochromatic outfit means wearing separates of one color that have different textures and/or similar shades of that color for an overall tonal look. I personally love monochromatic looks and how striking they can be. 

A monochromatic purple look is also sophisticated. An example of a monochromatic look was my last blog post where I styled an all black outfit HERE. A black & white outfit is also a monochrome look.

Purple is a very bold color and how you style it matters. Last year, Pantone color of the year was Ultra-Violet and I saw so many amazing purple outfit looks on Instagram.

The color purple has been known as the color of royalty and is also associated with wealth. There are different shades of purple and trust me guys, there is a shade for every one.

For this look, I decided to style my purple shirt with a purple and black elephant print skater skirt which I felt would spice up the outfit and also because I didn’t want it to be an all-plain outfit. I bought this skirt from a Nigerian brand called TWENTYSIX.

My purple strappy heels from Zara also came out to play.
