Hello, guys! How are things going? I feel terrible, lol. It’s unacceptable that my most recent posting here was at the end of April. I indicated in the previous post How to Style a Sweater in Spring that I have been quite busy, balancing many things, and putting more effort and emphasis into my youtube channel. I also had my graduation ceremony in between. The exciting thing is that I posted a graduation vlog, which you really should watch.
We’d be discussing this Ankara and lace outfit on the blog today. I came to the realization as I was writing this piece that the last time I talked about Ankara on my blog was in this post How to Style an Ankara skater dress from 2021. Wow! LOL, it’s 2023. No, I haven’t stopped wearing Ankara since then. Just not a shoot with an Ankara theme for me. I ought to do better. I love styling Ankara pieces, and this pairing of lace and Ankara is one of my top favorites. Who knew this would make such a great combination? I like the creativity of Nigerian designers. Most significantly, I love how versatile Ankara is. Given the abundance of gorgeous prints available, you can make almost anything out of them.
I adore the design, hues, fit, and length. Fun fact: I received this dress from a friend in London. It was in her closet but wasn’t her size, so I carried it back to the United States. As soon as I laid eyes on the dress, I knew exactly how I wanted to style it: with my large afro hair and my yellow Telfar purse for a flash of color and to keep the hues of the print in focus. I’m wearing my favorite Mango sandals of all time, and I like how well they fit my narrow foot. I bought them right away and tried them on without giving it much thought because it is always difficult to find sandals that fit my feet.
It appeared as though we had planned the shoot location before deciding on the attire, but this was not the case. This location was ideal for this look. The lobby of Hartford, Connecticut’s boutique Goodwin Hotel served as the setting. Last month, my photographer friend Renny and I thoroughly enjoyed a staycation at the hotel. My goodness, the hotel was beautifully decorated everywhere, and I felt genuinely glad to be there. I adore the photos, which Renny nicely captured.
This blog post has come to an end, and it was wonderful to take a break from my incredibly hectic schedule to sit down and write this piece. Please be patient with me; I genuinely need to do better. Thank you so much, guys. Please go watch my videos and subscribe to my channel on YouTube to show me some love. I appreciate your time. Love, Bukky. Photography RENNYSVIRTUALPORTFOLIO
