Merry Christmas lovely people! I am just so happy because this is the first christmas I’ll be spending with family after six years in the University. Thankful to God for his love, grace, mercies, protection and lot’s more upon my family. So, this is not a typical Christmas outfit post with all that touch of red. I have also been very busy to shoot for christmas so, I just decided to drop this here.
Talking about neutral colors today on my blog. Neutral colors are colors that blend well with other colors and colors that fall in between this range are white, brown, cream, camel, beige etc. Neutral colors never go out of style and they create a balance with your outfit giving it a classic look. The beauty of neutrals is that they will always look good together. They are called the classic basics when it comes to fashion and when it comes to ladies, they give us a sense of elegance and soft femininity. I got this hat a while ago from Asos and what really attracted me to it was the width of the brim, the double belt attached to it and the color of course! When I decided to style it, I knew I wanted to stay within the neutral color scheme. It was war at first because I don’t have brown outfits but hey! I remembered I had brown shoes, a brown oversized double breasted blazer which was new, one of my nude pants and a turtle neck top which I rocked on the blog HERE, HERE and I felt babe you are good to go. I also made sure my makeup fell within the scheme. Glad I was able to stay within my desired color scheme and most importantly, I was able to make do with what I had. I really love this look and I believe the location also did justice to the scheme and thanks to my photographer who brought up the idea.
TIPS TO STYLING NEUTRAL PIECES
- Don’t be afraid to mix and match the different hues
- Don’t be afraid to reinvent your look by mixing textures within the brown/cream color theme
- Go for a head-to-toe neutral look. It works and saves you the stress
- Accessories should also be within the color scheme just like in my case.
I love love love your play on neutrals in this look. I adore how you remixed this outfit too, I remember in the past you styled the top and trousers with a scarf. That jacket which is awesome by the way,is the perfect statement piece. Your photographer was right too, the location is perfect.
