THINGS TO DO IN CONNECTICUT

Hey people!

Welcome back to my blog! I hope your holidays were filled with joy and that you’re enjoying the end of the year. It’s been a minute since my last post in November, so take a moment to catch up if you haven’t already STYLING LEATHER DUNGAREES IN FALL | AUTUMN 2023.

Today’s blog post takes on a new flavor as I step into my role as a lifestyle content creator. Joining forces with my talented friend and photographer, Renny, we’ve initiated a captivating series right here in Connecticut, and we’re calling it R&B Experiences. Our mission? To unearth and share the hidden treasures scattered across this charming state. Living here has been an incredible journey, and I’m convinced there’s a plethora of activities waiting to be discovered in this city.

In this post, I’m thrilled to share some of our experiences and showcase the amazing brands that have been our partners on this journey. From unique adventures to delightful collaborations, this year has been filled with memorable moments. For an even more immersive experience, be sure to check out the accompanying videos that capture the essence of these experiences. There’s a playlist on my Youtube Channel titled Living in Connecticut. You can keep up with everything related to CT on my channel MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

1) GO AXE THROWING : BLUE OX AXE THROWING

R&B Experience had us trying our hand at axe throwing—an activity completely new to both of us. To say it was a blast would be an understatement; it was an absolute thrill, and surprisingly budget-friendly too! The team at the venue went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time, offering helpful guidance with smiles all around. It’s also a great activity for groups of people. We visited their location at Fairfield County, CT. You can watch the full experience on my channel HERE.

2) TRY OUT FRENCH CUISINE : A’VERT BRASSERIE

Renny and I recently enjoyed a sponsored dinner at a French restaurant in Hartford, Connecticut. Chef Ryan’s dishes were a delight, and the service was excellent. Stay tuned for a video showcasing our experience! Our evening was nothing short of enchanting as we explored a menu curated by Chef Ryan. Despite my somewhat picky eating habits, I was pleasantly surprised by the delightful array of dishes. Each bite was a burst of flavor, leaving our taste buds in a state of perpetual delight. Aside from the culinary delights, we had the privilege of chatting with Chef Ryan, gaining insights into his culinary philosophy. The service, too, was top-notch, enhancing the overall experience.

3) TRY OUT GUATEMALAN FOOD: AURORA’S RESTAURANT

Ventured into the world of Guatemalan cuisine for the first time, and it was a delightful experience. While Renny was already familiar, it was my inaugural taste, and I must say, it was incredibly good. The ambiance provided ample space, which we utilized for planning upcoming experiences. Safe to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and productive planning session. You need to try their FRESH fruit smoothies! wow! If you’re also in the mood for pizza, they have a sister store @auroras_pizza in Enfield, CT📍

5) EXPERIENCE A BOUTIQUE HOTEL :  THE GOODWIN HOTEL

This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I have visited. I believe its one of Hartford’s boutique hotels. It is a historic hotel and apartment building located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut.  We had a sponsored Stay-cation and everything about our stay at the Goodwin was excellent! The hotel boasts of its hospitality, and we actually got to enjoy it! Let’s also discuss the aesthetics omg! Perfect for those who create content. Everything, including the meal and drinks, was fantastic. You can watch a recap of our stay WATCH HERE. We highly recommend a stay-cation at the Goodwin Hotel. It was a much-needed stay-cation for us and we had such a relaxing time. Highly recommend!

Renny and I went to try out working on the pottery wheel and will definitely be back. It was such a different and beautiful experience for us! Shout-out to Pedro and all of the lovely ladies who filled the space with beautiful creations and encouraging energy! We felt the warm welcomes immediately upon arrival! They are located in West Hartford, CT. Highly recommend. Watch full Experience HERE.

7) VISIT A JAPANESE STEAKHOUSE : KOMA JAPANESE STEAKHOUSE

We visited this Japanese steakhouse since we both love Japanese food. We received excellent service. Food was everything and more, and the owner, Jason, was a fantastic host. We thought the restaurant was great; you could organize birthday parties there, have any kind of dinner there, or simply hang out and relax at the bar. Our taste buds won’t forget the experience and without a doubt, we would return there. Watch full video HERE

8) VISIT THE WESTPORT LIBRARY : WESTPORT LIBRARY

We visited the Westport Library, a public library in the town of Westport, Connecticut. This happens to be the only 5-star one in Connecticut. Our Avid book readers would definitely love this one. They are such a unique library with all the necessary resources. So beautiful, with lovely ambience. They have a full SSL recording studio, A/V lab, 3D printers, performance venue, library of things, seed bank etc. Children are also not left out! Honestly speaking, it is such a beautiful library. You can also sit outside the library in summer and have a picnic. You just have to experience it yourself. We loved it there!

Renny is Blasian and Filipino specifically. So, I got to try out some of her Filipino Culture. I had a couple of things like Ube Pandesal, Lumpiang Shanghai, Pancit Bihon, Halo-Halo, Fried Tilapia and Fried Bangus. It was great experiencing meals for another culture. Renny also tried some Nigerian food at mine when we initially started R&BExperiences so, it was only right I tried Filipino food.
